How to fix a Google Maps Embed Problem?

    I’m getting this message when embedding a Google Map. “The Google Maps Embed API must be used in an iframe”. This feature has been working until today. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Hi there,
    We cannot use the new Google maps engine yet. Are you using this guide? http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/

    Thanks for the reply. I’ve used the guide and this method works, however, all of my previous maps on multiple draft posts no longer work. I’ll be repairing those today.

    It looks like you’re currently using the following URL in your posts to embed the map:

    https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ripley,+OH+45167/@35.572597,-89.7560449,7z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x88414403bfa53ef5:0x52b300df4f9d7ff1

    Instead, you’ll need to paste the entire iframe code shown here:

    <iframe src="https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d12448.634522992717!2d-83.83930645!3d38.7371219!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x88414403bfa53ef5%3A0x52b300df4f9d7ff1!2sRipley%2C+OH+45167!5e0!3m2!1sen!2sus!4v1397061460701" width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" style="border:0"></iframe>

    Once you paste that code in the Text Editor and switch back to the Visual Editor, the code should be converted to a Google Maps shortcode like this:

    [googlemaps https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d12448.634522992717!2d-83.83930645!3d38.7371219!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x88414403bfa53ef5%3A0x52b300df4f9d7ff1!2sRipley%2C+OH+45167!5e0!3m2!1sen!2sus!4v1397061460701&w=600&h=450]

    Can you give that a try and let me know if it works on your side?

    Yes, this method works. This was my original embed technique on my drafts, but somewhere along the line they failed. I’ll go back and see if I can edit my maps.
