How to fix an error made while changing blog address?
-
Somehow I goofed changing my blog address and importing everything. I have all of my posts but my blog doesn’t look like the other one and I’m not allowed to customize it.
My old Blog URL is lovemovesmeblog.wordpress.com The new Blog URL is untanglingroots.wordpress.com
Help! Can it be fixed?
Thank you!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
Is the only thing you want to change is the blog address? If you do, I found that you purchased WordPress.com Premium, which includes a free custom domain name! I did a quick search and found that the domain: untanglingroots.com is currently available! This allows you to find your site at untanglingroots.com instead of lovemovesmeblog.wordpress.com. You can read more about this here.
However, if you wanted to start all over with a new blog and customize is differently, I can transfer the WordPress.com Premium upgrade to your new blog: untanglingroots.wordpress.com. Please note you can add the custom domain to this new site too if you wanted to transfer the Premium upgrade to this blog.
Please let me now how you would like to proceed!
Cheers!

Thank you so much Grace! I like the customized look of lovemovesmeblog and I really want to keep that, I worked really hard on it…lol I do plan to take advantage of the domain but first I need to learn what I’m doing and hope that I can use the same theme.
I’m really new at it all. Perhaps I should grab the domain name before it gets away…
Let me see if I understand; take domain name untanglingroots.com or transfer premium upgrade to untanglingroots.wordpress.com and design from scratch, AND still use the domain option…sorry I’m so slow understanding :-/

Hi Donna!
I found that you added the custom domain to lovemovesmeblog.wordpress.com! Congrats! So, this essentially means that you can find all your content from lovemovesmeblog.wordpress.com at untanglingroots.com.
Considering that you like the look of this site, I’d say to continue on with this site! I can see a lot of work went into it and it’s really nicely done :)
I wouldn’t worry too much about the name: lovemovesmeblog.wordpress.com, because even if your readers go there, they will be automatically redirected to untanglingroots.com. So, there are no hiccups in viewing your site even with the name change.
Please note that lovemovesmeblog.wordpress.com URL will never delete, and this is actually pretty great because if you decide one day to get rid of your domain name (untanglingroots.com) or you forget to renew it yearly, you can still find your site at lovemovesmeblog.wordpress.com by just updating the primary domain. This is done on your Store > Domains page of your Dashboard. Right now, untanglingroots.com is set as the primary, so no matter which domain your readers go to, they will be taken to untanglingroots.com.
I know that domain names can be a bit confusing, so just a quick background – a domain name is a name used to identify a particular website on the internet. Your site’s domain name is like your mailing address. Your domain exists independently of your site, so even if you were to cancel your domain, all the content on your site would remain unchanged.
You can read more about this here.
If you have any questions about this please let me know!
Happy Blogging!
