How to fix blog follower subscription counter?

  I have noticed that many subscribers to my blog are not added to the subscription count after they register. Is there a way to fix this? Is this a known problem? It would seem that I have more followers than it seems.

  You can locate your followers here and do note that if you use Publicize to autopost to Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Yahoo then the stats are inflated by the addition of the social networking followers/friends you have on those sites.

  All widget data is cached and takes hours to update.
