How to fix Error 1064 when exporting

    I exported my blog and it downloaded an XML file on my computer. I then imported the file into my new hostgator account after successfully downloading wordpress onto that site, and I get an Error #1064 and nothing imported. The service at hostgator said it appears to be an error in the code of the XML file and that I would need to have a developer look at it. I don’t know where to start to fix this problem as I’m quite green with this whole process.
