How to gauge success of your blog?
-
My blog is just starting out, and I have been setting some weekly goals. The first week, I hit my goal, but I was wondering if the goal was a little too easy in terms of viewers? What type of views/visitors is a good benchmark? I’d like to know so I can look at what I currently have and see if it is attainable.
Anybody have any of the same thoughts or know what a good benchmark is for a young blog?

Congrats on setting and reaching your first goal – easy or not.
Personally, I think the question you are asking is one that only you can answer. The idea of ‘beginning with the end in mind’ means that you set your own standards of success…
How many followers do you want your blog to reach, ultimately?
How will you get there?
And what happens once you’ve reached that goal? All that said, you might want to visit https://discover.wordpress.com/ and https://dailypost.wordpress.com/ to analyze what these blogs are doing to get noticed on WordPress.com
Beyond that, maybe look at the popular blogs that you follow, or ones in the same category where your blog would fit. I also find sites like http://www.copyblogger.com/ to be pretty insightful and useful.
Hope this helps!
