How to get 2 photos to center on same line?

I am having a problem getting 2 photos (300×201) to center on the same line.
I can load them up on the same line, but when I try to center them, one drops to the line below. I’ve tried making them smaller and that does not work. They are loaded to justify “none”.
    Any ideas?

Load one to align left and one to align right. That might help, but they are going to have to be made smaller, because there’s always a bit of space to the left and right anyway in a column; you can’t actually use the entire full width.

Vigilance has a maximum width in the post area of 600px so my suggestion is that you make the images 290px wide maximum to be safe, and if you are going to use captions, I would use 270px maximum image width because of the frame that the caption puts around the image.

Thanks. I took them down to 295 and that seems to work. I’ve done it before, but it doesn’t always appear centered. On my last post it looks ok though.
