How to get a .com with WP once a blog is already open

I would like to upgrade my WP by having a .com instead of a .wordpress.com can I do it without to redo an account? I know it is an extra charge of 18$ but I don’t mind it.

When logged into the blog you want to get the upgrade for
Go to
Dashboard >> Store >> Add a domain Register the domain name then map it
