how to get a new theme

    how do you get a new theme like when i go to other
    peoples sites they have different themes not from
    those available themes that they give you!
    how do you get them?

    WordPress.COM users are limited to the themes listed under design > themes. You cannot upload themes found on the web.

    If you want to be able to use themes found on the web, you have to hire a web host, register a domain name, download the wordpress software from wordpress.ORG, install and configure it and then upload whatever themes, plugins, etc. that you want.

    Our only choice here is to use the paid CSS upgrade to modify the look of the themes that are listed under design > themes. Do note that there is no official support for the CSS upgrade and few here that know much about it. Educate yourself first about CSS, and then use the edit CSS preview to try out your changes prior to buying the upgrade. Not also that the CSS upgrade does NOT allow you to change the functionality of the theme, or modify the underlying theme files. CSS only allows you to style the theme.
