How to get a post to display only in category, not on main page?

  Hello,
  this might be a silly question. How do I get a post to display only in the category I have designated for it and not as the newest post on the blog homepage. I’d like to put an intro on the homepage that will stay in place and not get bumped down. users will then have to go to each category to read daily blog entries.

  Any help? Thanks!

  Well, that’s not really the way blogs are supposed to work but you can achieve that by making your home page a static page.
