  Also, how do you reverse order of posts from the newest posts at the top to the first post at the top and continuing downwards.

  You can’t. The way your theme and blog are functioning is the norm. Unless you use the P2 theme which is a Twitter-like theme, know that the front pages of our blogs “showcase content” and comments are collapsed on that page. You cannot change this. The way the comments function is coded into the core of WordPress. By clicking the post title or the comments link the posts on the front page open on their own page where all comments display.

  I’m not 100% sure I know what you mean. Do you mean that the posts are currently appearing as excerpts on the home page and you don’t want them to? Note that how excerpts work is part of each theme’s unique design and you may not be able to change it depending on the theme. Or do you mean you want all the posts to always appear on the home no matter how many there are? I would strongly recommend against doing that because loading too many at once will eventually cause your site to load too slowly and become unusable.

  You can reverse the order of posts by adding ?order=asc to the end of the URL. For example:
  http://syntaxdemo.wordpress.com/?order=asc

  So if you add a custom menu and make one of the links a custom one that points to your posts page using ?order=asc at the end of the URL, anyone who clicked that link would see posts in chronological order.
