How to get around another mistake I have made
-
Hello, I was getting on really well today, and I saw a link on the left hand side that said uncategorised. I went in and saw I had inadvertently added the same content as on the front page.
I have renamed it but still cannot delete the content that is already there, is there a wayy round this ?
Regards
David

“Uncategorized” is the default category for WordPress.com posts (which you have now renamed “Mistake to be rectified”).
You are seeing the link there because you have a categories widget active in your sidebar. If you would like to remove that link, log into your WordPress.com site’s dashboard and go to Appearance–> Widgets and you will see a “categories” widget listed under the “primary sidebar” heading. Click on it and you will see a “delete” link.

Many thanks rootjosh. I would never have
been able to find that. I must make more of an effort and learn more.
once again
Thanks.

Just start with http://learn.wordpress.com. I think there are also a couple more tutorials for beginners in the Support documents http://support.wordpress.com/

Raincoaster is absolutely right. Both of those links are very useful for those just starting out with WordPress.com.
