How to get back expired domain?

Our site’s domain was expired, but I didn’t own it, so I was not able to redeem it. My ex-co-worker, who had the domain, is difficult to reach and apparently has problems redeeming the domain. How can I get the domain back to our site, when I’m not the original owner?

The regulations regarding domain ownership are very strict, and we cannot make any exceptions to them, so in order to renew that domain we will need the request to come from the iinalaku account that owns the domain.

I will try to contact them again. If they won’t redeem the domain, when will it be released again?

It looks like that domain is about halfway through the expiration process now, so it should be released within another 30-40 days. However, you should know there’s a risk of someone else buying it the moment it’s released, in which case it won’t be possible to get it back. So it would be best to have the owner reach out to us as soon as possible so we can help get it restored. If you manage to get hold of them they can just post in this thread, and we can help from there.
If they no longer want the domain, tell them that they can always transfer ownership to you once it’s restored.
