How to get basic exposure for my blog?

I have been blogging for 7 months now and love it. Other than upgrade my websites and write blogs, I am quite clueless about what else to do to increase exposure.
Is there any WP “community” where users can share their posts and expose themselves at least to other WP bloggers? I did noticed that click on “reader” or “recommended blogs”, there are other bloggers and blogs pop up. Can I have my blog “pop-up’ there too? I could not even find my website when I searched my name?

Hi, I’m actually in the same boat as you. I’m just starting to blog now, but I’m really curious about what the blogging masters could say and what kind of advice they could give to people like us.
But for my own two cents- have you considered making a Youtube channel to be a companion to your blog? Youtube could give you the chance to connect with other channels and thus move more traffic to your blog?
That’s just my own little nugget, though. I’ll be interested to see how more experienced bloggers answer your question.
