How to get blocks to span entire page

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I love using the media & text block on my pages, but I can’t get them to line up with paragraph blocks, specifically on the left margin. They always seem to be smaller horizontally than other blocks, which then looks weird when both media & text blocks and paragraph blocks are on the same page.

I don’t see an option on the block settings to go wide-screen, which I used to. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Hello there,

    Many thanks for reaching out.

Do you have an example of the post you’re working on please?

We can take a closer look and point you in the right direction.

    Many thanks in advance.

Here’s an example that can be found at http://amyjulian.com/communications/.

There are two different types of blocks – a paragraph block at the top, followed by three media & text blocks. As you can see, the paragraph block spans the width of the page, but the media & text blocks are indented on the right and left sides. I’m trying to get the media & text blocks to line up with the paragraph block but can’t seem to figure out how to. The block settings used to have an option to go wide screen, but no longer…

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated!

  • Hello there,

    Many thanks for that information.

It looks like http://amyjulian.com/ is a self-hosted WordPress site, which is a bit different to a site hosted on WordPress.com. You can read about these differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

You would need to reach out to your theme/plugin developers or the hosting provider for further assistance.

With regards to the indentation described there, it looks like the theme is applying padding to columns in the media and text block by around 8%.

    I hope this helps.
