We are new to blogging. We created our first blog site http://funtimebirdy.wordpress.com
How does google crawl our blog? Is there anything we have to set or do in order to help this process?
Does RSS have anything to do with crawling?

RSS does have something to do with crawling, but it’s not something you need to worry about. As long as you’ve set your blog to be searchable by search engines on the settings, you’ll be fine. Google will crawl you faster if you blog often and link to a LOT of other sites. You can go to Google Blogsearch and register, but it’s not required. WordPress.com does it all automatically.

second, you can put the link in a forum.
but remember, dont shamelessly spamming forum with your link. provide an insightful thought or advice
or you can also provide help voluntarily and people will tend to click your link i nthe signature (even if you put the link directly to the thread.)

Take that with a grain of salt, particularly as it comes from someone who doesn’t know how to make his username link to his blog.

Most forums, including this one, rel=”nofollow” links in the posts, so putting a link in the body of a post or reply here in the forums does you virtually no good.
