I had a blog named Simply Happy, which I’ve renamed The Journey of Awakening. I already published one post which went perfectly. However, when I publish my second post the line “by” shows up as “Simply Happy” instead of my name, “John Langenfeld.” How do I correct this?

Not all themes are designed to display bylines. The point of displaying an author name is to differentiate the posts on an multi-author site. Regardless of the theme, and provided the theme is designed to display a byline, bylines will only display now if there are at least two authors who both have at least one published post in the blog. There’s a single author workaround here.

Lastly, note that Taglines are meant to be very brief, keyword rich branding messages. The third bullet point in this post http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/06/22/creating-an-effective-blog-tagline/ may interest you when it comes to being aware of what Google will or will not display.
