How to get colors & fonts I like ? Small amount of background selections

I am not sure if I want the upgrade because I have not been able to get the color or customizations I would like. So if it’s not possible I would prefer to just keep the default design. I wanted the title to be orange like the default and I keep trying to put it in orange as well as change the font of the title and it goes to other colors that I don’t like. Additionally, with the background patterns there is a very small selection and there are none that I like
So can somebody please let me know if this is possible and if so assist me in getting the design and colors that I like. If not that is fine of course I will keep the domain. The Art of Piano Performance. Me
It said I am supposed to customize it the way I like but this has not happened, so if it’s not possible I would like a refund of the upgrade and just keep the domain.

You can definitely do this if you edit CSS. Even if you’re not familiar with CSS we have a forum with great staff/volunteers that’d be able to help you figure out what you want:

This is something you can change by going to Appearance > Background in your Dashbooard. You can upload any image you want.

Thanks for responding ! I forgot to mention that I am not very tech savvy so I am not sure if it will be too hard to try and understand CSS.
I mean I am extremely not tech savvy at all 😕
So I need to know this by today if you will really be able to help me before I cancel the upgrade.
The problem I noticed is when I put a background I like the color would change on the title after I had set it back to the orange like the site puts the colors that IT wants and I’m not able to fully custom it how I want exactly. It seems very very restrictive especially the color palettes. There were some that I wanted to use but I can’t even rearrange the colors to be where I want them to be. Please get back to me in time that if it seems too hard I can cancel the upgrade and just keep the domain.

Hi Jamila,
You don’t need to be tech saavy at all to do this. As long as you can copy/paste what I give you, you’ll be fine.
This is currently what I see in your header:
I do see the orange but the wording below it is hardly visible.
So, let me know what color you want the site title and the description below to be from this CSS color picker:

Give me the color value as seen here:
Once I get that I can provide you the code that you just copy/paste.

I click the links and I pick this color to put the other words you can’t hardly see.
I would also like the cloud of categories to be this color as well.
When I click on the link I have no idea what I’m supposed to do so this is the color I want for the other words & cloud categories.

Also, what fonts are available? I’m not crazy about the font and thought I would have been able to experiment with various fonts but I didn’t see a great selection in the options. When they said it was customizable I thought I would be able to experiment with it till I get it the way I like.
I feel like I will annoy you to keep going back and forth to fix it how I want.

So in order to change the color of the site description, menu, and tag clouds to the color you choose, please go to Appearance > Customize > CSS in your Dashboard. Here is the direct link to the Customize page:
Go to the CSS tab and copy/paste the following into the CSS editor:
hgroup h2.site-description, .main-navigation a, #tag_cloud-3.widget a { color: #FF3300; }That should turn what you wanted to the color you provided me. If you want to change the color, just change the color value to any other color you found in the CSS color picker.
As for changing fonts, please go to the Font tab. If you aren’t satisfied with the options, let me know of any other fonts you’ve seen. Provide me the name and I can see if it’s possible to use on your site.

now just a couple more things, i also wanted the tags the same or perhaps a similar color so i will go back to that color wheel and send it to you soon.

hi because of all the changes i decided to change the whole theme, because it was so many things i needed to change.
now, i am trying to put the meta tag to verify the website and my new domain theartofpianoperformance.me with google and the instructions are very confusing, so i thought i followed the instructions and copied and pasted three different things that came from the google after going to that link and it all keeps saying 'not verified' i did it like 6 times and it still doesn't work. so like i said before i am not technically savvy, and the instructions are very long and very confusing with a lot of jargon i don't understand, but i was able to verify other websites i had before because there were easy to follow instructions with some kind of guide to show you what to do as you went along.
so i would appreciate it if you can help me with this, many thanks :-)

The other lady that helped me understood that I am not technically savvy and I tried over 6 times and it didn’t work so I need some help with this I already read the instructions over and over and to b honest I don’t even understand half of all the technical jargon.
Like I copied and pasted what I thought was the code you supposed to out and I copied 3-4 different things because it’s not clear exactly what I am supposed to copy and paste.
Is it the address in the browser ? The code I see on the page because I tried all these different things and none of them worked.
So reading a long complicated instruction doesn’t help me at all, maybe if you can make an instructional video or screen shot showing me exactly what to do.
