How to get excerpt from first post onto home page?

  On the home page, instead of including an actual excerpt from the first post, it includes this sentence: “This is the excerpt for your very first post.”

  Can this be corrected?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  If you remove the manual excerpt from the editor of that post, you’ll see the theme generate an excerpt and Continue Reading link:
