How to get followed blogs into inbox, not RSS feed
-
I’d prefer to read blogs I follow by having them come directly into my email inbox rather than into an RSS feed way at the bottom of my files, which has been filling with blogs for years that I’ve never read! How can I get blogs into my inbox instead?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, Jean!
You can adjust your settings in the Blogs I Follow page:
https://wordpress.com/following/edit/Simply click EDIT next to a blog name. Then, you can opt to receive new posts by email. You can even set how often you receive those emails: immediately, daily, or weekly.
I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

Well, I found that page already and checked my settings, and I do get these blogs all coming into my email program, but some of them don’t come into my inbox, but go into a folder below titled RSS, so I wondered what that difference was and if it could be overridden.
Can you help with that? Is it perhaps there are different ways of following? Limited to what the site owner selects?

Hi Jean,
Could you please tell me the name of the blogs that do not end up in your email box? I’d like to look at those individually.
Thanks very much.

exoconsciousnessIt’s possible I changed a setting after I wrote, but I’m sure not all of them.
Again, they do come to my email program, not my Inbox. Thanks! -
Hi Jean,
Thanks for this list.
I’m curious how your gmail filters are setup. These emails should all come from the same email address via WordPress.com. So, it’s not the outgoing email or your WordPress.com settings that should determine where these individual notifications are being placed in your inbox.
To check this out, please open gmail, and click the little “settings” cog, then select “Settings.” In the toolbar, choose filters. Please take a screenshot of any filters that appear on this screen. Then, if there is an RSS filter, open it, and take a screenshot of those details.
You can upload the screenshots to your Media Library, and let me know when there’s something(s) I should look at.
Here is info about taking screenshots:

Hi Robyn,
I just did as you requested, saw “no filters,” took a screen shot and uploaded it to my ParadigsmSalon.net Media Library.Looking forward to figuring this out! Thanks much!

Hey Jean,
Thank you for that screenshot!
I took a look at the list you sent me. I do see the following subscription on your “Blogs I Follow” page:
Facing the Shadow, Embracing the Light
I’ve adjusted those settings so you get daily emails notifying you of new posts. However, there hasn’t been a new post on that site since May, so you shouldn’t be getting any recent notifications from the blog. What is the date of the last email you’re seeing in your RSS box in your gmail account?
I researched the following sites:
Vimeo – Greg Renfro’s is not a WordPress.com-hosted site, it’s from a Vimeo feed
artemesiaspeaks is a WordPress.com-hosted site that was deleted in 2012.
clandesineragerevealed is not a WordPress.com-hosted site.
exoconsciousness is not a WordPress.com-hosted site.I cannot assist with non WordPress.com sites, unfortunately, as I don’t have access to their files.
If you have any other active WordPress.com sites I can help with, please do let me know and I can assist further. Thanks much!
