How to get followers/subscribers over to new wordpress.org site
-
I want to be able to get our stats and e-mail subscribers and followers over to our new self-hosted wordpress.org site. We had over two hundred who subscribed to e-mail and followed us and now our new site called familytravelescapades hardly has any readers. Our old site did much better but I was counseled repeatedly to get our own site. We have invested a lot of money and I hate to start out at almost zero and plus I hate to lose subscribers and followers. I have read about a jetpack plug-in which we have on our new site but didn’t see how to put one on our old site. Any help you could give would be much appreciated.

Hello neverland2001,
You’re right about Jetpack.
Once it is installed on your self-hosted blog and connected to the WordPress.com account (which has the blog with followers), you can easily move its subscribers and followers over to your new self-hosted blog.
Follow these steps:
- Install Jetpack on your self-hosted blog and connect it to your WordPress.com account.
- Read the information here before moving.
- Move your followers/subscribers using the Subscriber Migration Tool of Jetpack.
Feel free to ask again if you get stuck somewhere.
