How to get Google to see my blog

    I own a bed and breakfast in Torquay, England called Torcroft Hotel. My website is http://www.torcrofthotel.co.uk. I also have a blog with url of blog.torcrofthotel.co.uk. The blog is titled ‘Torquayhotel and hosted by WordPress at https://torquayhotel.wordpress.com. Of course, I want people to find my blog but when I type Torquay hotel into Google the blog is not visible at all. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi there,

    We don’t really provide search engine optimization (SEO) services, however there are a few things which anyone can do to improve their site’s ranking.

    First, make sure that you have added your site to Google’s Webmaster Tools. It will allow Google to be better aware of it and help you know of any potential trouble with the site.

    And second, make sure that if you have a root site (such as torcrofthotel.co.uk), that you are linking over to your subdomain. If there is no link, visitors and web crawlers won’t necessarily know how to find your blog! It doesn’t need to be a in neon flashing lights, but a link in your menu bar would not go amiss.
