how to get more links in

    hi all,
    im new to wordpress and have just had my first link in to my blog from a non-wordpress site – can anyone give any tips on what it is that attracts other websites to link to your blog so that i know what i did right this time?!

    is it the appeal of the tags you use, the title of blog, or its url?? or all three!

    I think it’s a combination of good writing about topics people are passionate about as well as a concise set of targeted and relative tags. Blog title and slug (URL) are also important, but my opinion is that the content is the most important.

    I agree 100% with designsimply has said. In addition I would like to point out that backlinks to your posts and links to your blog in blogrolls are frequently a result of relationship building. There are zillions of blogs out there in every niche (ie. similar subject matter). If you visit blogs in the same niche your blog is in and leave meaningful comments on posts your comments will bring attention to your blog posts. Those who click through using the link to your blog from your username will read your posts and some will choose to backlink to your posts or place your blog on their blorgroll.
