@TT’s advice above is great – a quick look at your blog – a couple of points
Add the Subscription Widgets (Email & RSS) to your sidebar so visitors can subscribe to your blog
After you have the subscribe widgets in place, tell your friends if you have not already –
If you have an outing with friends, put a few more pictures on a Post (put the extra pictures behind the read more tag to keep load times down) – have a good lead picture and text – then send a note to the friends that were on the outing

These settings change emails sent from your blog to followers.
Logged out users __ Show follow button to logged out users.
