How to get my domain back

    Hi,

    I registered this domain pimfhachan.com about a week ago. I suddenly realized that I wanted to change the host of the domain to other hosts, so I canceled my subscription plan on wordpress and found out that the domain is also gone with the subscription.

    I no longer want to receive any service from wordpress.com but I would like to know if there’s anything that I could do to get the domain back (like paying a redemption fee) or when will wordpress.com release my domain again.

    I’m quite new to this so please respond to this asap and thank you for your help.

    Hi there – We can help you get this domain back and use it elsewhere. We’ll need to do two things:

    1. We’ll need to send you a manual payment request for the cost of the domain, which is $18. Once you have paid that we can restore the domain to your account.

    2. We’ll need to restore the site you deleted because the domain needs the site to return to – not to worry, we can set the site to private after restoring.

    If you agree to the price let us know and we’ll send over the manual payment request and get started as soon as you’ve paid.

    Note: once the domain is restored, it will have a 60-day lock which will prevent transfer of the domain to another registrar, however, you can still manage the domain’s DNS settings to connect it to a site you build on another host. Let us know if you have questions about this part. In short, you’ll still be able to use it on a new site you create elsewhere.

    If you don’t see it in your inbox, make sure it’s not in spam, or in another folder instead.

    Thanks — the domain is ready. Is it okay if we restore the site so we can attach the domain to it?

    Also we don’t send a notification, but you’d be welcome to set your own 60 days from the registration date.

    Hi @pimfhachan, I was able to restore it and add the domain to that. You can now manage the domain as you like. And, the site is private.

    To transfer elsewhere, use these steps:

    And if you just want to point the domain to another host while keeping it registered here, this will help:
