How to get my layout set like the examples you have provided!

Dear Support,
How do I change the Imbalance 2 layout such that it looks like the example:
The following is the example that we have been given. I am trying to get the banner logo at the top. Ideally I’d like to figure out how to set the Imbalance 2 layout to be exactly like the example. Please let me know what settings I need to do to to change the header so that I have one big picture across.

You can indeed post URLs. Be sure you’re trying to mimic a site using Imbalance2 and not Imbalance.

The site example is called the “Patterned Plate” is a customized Imbalance 2.
If you want to rip off ie. mimic what that blogger has done then what you have to do is purchase aan annually renewable custom design upgrade http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/ and do the required CSS editing http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css/ to emulate her customization of that theme.
Imbalance 2 offers two layout options, fluid and fixed.
Fluid means the width changes according to screen resolution (or the width of browser) your visitors use.
Fixed means the width does not change according to screen resolution (or the width of browser) your visitors use.

Columns two and three are for two menus; you create and load them in Appearance > Menus – instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
Column four is for widgets; you add them in Appearance > Widgets.You need to set a featured image in each post in order to see the thumbnail in imbalance 2. Click on the module that has ‘featured image’ in it (if you don’t see the module, look at the top of the editor window for ‘screen options’ and check it’) then the image editor will appear. Browse to the image you want to use, via that, in the usual way, and then when you’ve found it, click the ‘featured image’ and when it appears in the module (outside the edit box) just close the image editor, and save your post as usual. An image that works best with featured images at least 210 wide.

Thank you for your response. I think I have an understanding of the columns. What I am struggling to understand is how the _thepatternedplate_wordpress_com was able to change the layout or template on their front page using Imbalance 2. I have searched the various options but cannot see how they have done this. Are you saying that the only way to do this is to use CSS sheet? The reason why I ask is that WordPress has used _thepatternedplate_wordpress_com website as an example so I thought that this was a possible layout using Imbalance 2. Please let me know so I can set my expectations on what I can and cannot do. Appreciate your response.

Also I notice that Imbalance 2 isn’t on this list when one of the links you provided states that imbalance 2 has the ability to customize the heading _en_support)wordpress_com/themes/custom-header-image/ I am trying to get the rectangle banner logo across the top of the screen. Imbalance 2 only allows a ‘square’ type image to be displayed.
