how to get my most recent blog posts to appear under static page
-
The instructions aren’t specific enough on how to get the most recent blog posts to appear under your static home page.
Also my featured image won’t appear with the post.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A static front page does not display post. It displays a welcome blah, blah, blah type of message.
Every theme has a detailed theme description page like this one is at https://wordpress.com/theme/Edin and tThat’s where set up instructions for it are found, and the link to the live demo site. Please consult it and read Front Page Template.

This is a one or the other situation. You have two choices on any blog
(1) All posts on the front page which is also called the home page and is the URL of the site.
(2) Or a static front page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ and all posts on a different page. In that case you can create a Page for the Home page https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/#create-a-new-page first and create one for your Posts/Blog then designate a static front page. -

The reference may be to the “Recent News” widget that is displayed in the optional “Front Page Three” widget area on the Edin demo.
In the Widget Areas section of the Edin theme guide, the last widget area mentioned is the “[t]hree optional widget areas on the Front Page Template.” On Edin, the optional Front Page One, Front Page Two, and Front Page Three widget areas will appear on any page that has the Front Page Template assigned to it, including the static front page. The “Recent News” widget seen on the front page of the demo is a Recent Posts widget inserted into the third front page widget area. See the Recent Posts Widget support page for information on and instructions regarding this widget.

The same widget could also be placed in one of the optional footer widget areas on the theme.
