How to get my web address picked up by Google

If I type my new web address in Google, it doesn’t come up. I have the free version. I also bought a domain name from Godaddy and had it forwarded to my WordPress address. Is there something else I need to do? Thanks.

Domain forwarding is not supported and will fail because wordpress.COM sites are not on permanent IP addresses. Read: IP Address For Domain Mapping
WordPress.com sites are not on permanent IP addresses. Sop if your use the IP addresses the domain mapping will eventually fail.

After you have selected a plan and upgraded so you can reliably map to an existing domain what follows will apply.
Your site content, once re-indexed by search engines, will appear in Google search, unless you make the site private.
re: search engine discoverability
It can take weeks for search engines to index your site content. Please read this support doc https://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/ so you know we have no control over search engines positioning or appearance in the SERPs (search engine page results).
