how to get old wpadmin?
-
I just set up a new blog on wordpress.com, but the admin is different from my existing blog, which I am used to. Plus all the youtube instructional videos for this theme (as recent as a couple months ago) show a different admin interface than what I have on my new one. Is there a way to get the older admin interface so it is easier for those of us that are used to that?
Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you sure you don’t want to hire a web host and set up a wordpress.ORG software install as that is what the video tutorial is referring to?
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page -
If you do intend to remain hosted here at wordpress. COM then what follows will be helpful.
re: the front page error message found on every new .wordpress.com blog
Nothing Found
It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help. There is nothing wrong with your site. By default the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post not a page the front page error message and searchbox that appears on every new WordPress.COM blog will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
I recommend using the step by step tutorial prepared by wordpress.COM staff which is linked to the bottom of your Admin page at https://learn.wordpress.com
See also the “Video Quick Start” tutorial http://en.support.wordpress.com/video-quick-start/
The only relevant support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also linked to on the bottom of your Admin page.

Yes, I do want wordpress.COM, and here is the video link I was referring to (which uses wordpress.COM): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVNKipwjwLc.
I mainly want to know how to use this type of wpadmin interface since the new one I have on my site is a little confusing to me.
Thanks. -
I don’t use those youtube tutorials at all.
Let’s break this down please.1. Everything you need to know about the wordpress.COM version of the Edin theme is found
(a) on the detailed theme description page that has set up instructions at https://wordpress.com/themes/edin/
(b) on the live demo site at https://edindemo.wordpress.com/
(c) in the associated wordpress.COM support docs at http://support.wordpress.com
(d) in Edin support forum threads that have been previously answered at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/edinIf you still have issue you create a support forum thread and clearly state exactly what you need help with.

I’m not going to watch the video to determine which editor (the new Beep Beep Boop editor) or the classic editor is being used. I use only the classic editor. See here please

Using the theme customizer is described in this support doc https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/
You can access it quickly here

Thank you for the links – they were helpful, but I still haven’t found how to switch to the classic wpadmin interface, which is what I would mainly like to do. This link: https://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/ had some directions to edit posts, etc. with the classic editor, but the technique didn’t work for me. And anyway, I would like to switch my entire admin to the classic wp admin, not just for posts. Can you help with this?
Thanks. -
You cannot deactivate the Beep Beep Boop editor.
We currently have two dashboards and we cannot so what you want to do in a ingle click.1. To use the classic editor to create posts,
go to Dashboard > Posts > Add New
Here is the model so you can see the format
http://INSERT_NAME_OF_YOUR_BLOG_HERE/wp-admin/post-new.php.2. To use the classic editor when you edit posts,
go the Posts -> All Posts menu, hover over the post title and click the Edit link. -
oops! Sorry about the typos (I’m using a bilingual keyboard).
We currently have two dashboards and we cannot do what you want to do in a single click. There is no way to set the blog to operate only by presenting you with the classic user interface.

Very weird – I swear my blog changed to the classic editor about 10 minutes ago. Then I went and changed my theme (just to check another one out) and when I returned to my admin, it was back to beep beep boop. How to I get it to stay in the classic editor mode? I have another blog, which has never had this problem. Thanks.

There is no way to set any blog hosted here to “to stay in the classic editor mode” are you clear on that?
Did you read my comment at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-get-old-wpadmin?replies=10#post-2490220 ?
-
I think I got it! You just have to click “site admin” under “meta” when signed into your blog. Sorry for the hassle and thanks for the help.

I made a blog post with screenshots that may be helpful.
There are “work-arounds” that can allow you to always use the classic editor listed on the blog post.
