How to get people to come to your blog

How do I get people to read my blog, instead of being a distant speck of dust in a large vacuum?
I love to write, I’d love to interact with others through wordpress, I’d love! for people to read my blogs.
So, how do I do it?
How does everybody else do it?
I don’t have any friends who have wordpress either. -

Yes you’re right it’s been asked about a million times before. In a sense, it’s the only question that all bloggers have in common. There are about 500 billion blogs, so how do you get people to read yours? My experience is that if you contribute to all kinds of forums (such as this one), keep posting original, interesting content on your blog, and exercise massive amounts of patience, then eventually you get some readers! Oh, and also I found it helps if you can be a little bit controversial, if your blog topic is appropriate for that?
My new blog has had 5 readers in its first two days. LOL. Not a bad start!

Another tip is to link your name to your blog:
“Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to ‘contact info’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won’t have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one.”

There are quite a lot of aspects of WordPress that are quite tricky to do. Anyway I think I’ve managed it now! Blogger.com is easier (perhaps I shouldn’t say that!?) but Blogger doesn’t seem to be as visible on the web.

If you write about sex, money, religion, politics, Hollywood, or sports, you’ll get readers. Otherwise, it’s a long and lonely road.

Readers would tend to check what is the content of your website before staring reading it. SO if you want them to come to read your blog write something interesting that has sense to read.

Another way to get readers is to become an expert and write about something very niche…like supermarket bagging competitions or something.
