How to get plugins ? Do I have to switch to wordpress.org ?

I am trying to figure out how to install a plugin in my wordpress.com blog.After going through some blog posts, it appears that I cannot install plugin in my xxx.wordpress.com

If I try to setup my blog on lets say Go Daddy, will I be able to get all the data from my current blog (xxx.wordpress.com) to the newly setup blog on GoDaddy ?Thanks for reading

Yes, if you want to install plugins, you’ll have to get a WordPress.org installation.

There are a lot of workarounds. Why don’t you tell us what specific result you want to accomplish, and then we can tell you whether it’s possible in WP.com?
