How to get rid of extra text in widgets?
-
You can rearrange the widgets by dragging them using the mouse.
1. Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets screen
2. Click and hold the mouse on the widget and then move the widget by moving the mouse.Could you try removing the empty line by editing the post and try backspacing etc. to remove the space.

Did that lots of times …..

Sorry, I did not mean the order of the widgets, but the order of the blogs in which they appear if you scroll down (starting by clicking on ‘home’).

Hi there,
I fixed up Jan, Feb and March posts. I removed unwanted empty lines and paragraph tags around ingredients. So they should be alright now.
By default, posts are designed to display in reverse chronological order (from newest to oldest). This support document has some information on how to change the default ordering of the posts: https://en.support.wordpress.com/show-your-posts-in-chronological-order/
Best Regards,

Done it! I just changed the date of publishing. And I also managed to get the new widget so that you can click on it. Thanks again!

Hi Chaitanya.
In “April 2015: insomnia”, I wanted to add another item at the end of the second starred list (after: “when you finally go to bed”). However, if I do that, the extra gap between every new line is appearing again. Can I change that easily myself? Why does it happen anyway? -
May I know where are you copying the text for the new item? Sometimes programs like Microsoft Word inserts unwanted line breaks or paragraphs.
It is better to copy the text and paste it first into a text editor program like Notepad and then copy from Notepad and paste it to the Edit Post screen.

I have an imac OS X Yosemite and am usually copying from ‘Pages’ 5.5.2. You’re right: when I put the pages bit in ‘freeform’ first, I get rid of the line break. Thanks again!!!

In the March post there is a line break around EAT and SOW.
I can’t explain how it came up but I just removed it. So it is fixed now :-)

Thanks, again!!! I had just decided to redo March from scratch. Can’t find a notepad-type thing on here but I may not need it/find it later.

You are welcome :-)
I am closing this thread as you now know how to deal with unwanted line breaks and paragraphs in your posts.
