how to get rid of footer action bar

  I’m very new to wordpress and I’m not a developer. My published site shows a bar on the footer, and it shows edit site ,log in, etc. I would like to get rid of that. I’m happy to keep wordpress credits, but I don’t want my readers to get confused by log in and edit site options.
