You can remove those sites from the Links area in the WP Admin dashboard:

Hi! Try going to your dashboard and in the sidebar, click the “Customize” button (it is under the “Personalize” category and to the right of “Themes”). Next, click “Widgets”, then click “Sidebar”, and it should show a list of all the widgets in your sidebar. You can click the down arrow to the right of each widget to show more information about each, or remove it entirely by clicking the “Remove” link.
Hope that works!

sewingpattern – those links aren’t actually in a widget in this theme. :) In Black Letterhead, the blogroll (links) and some other items are displayed by default in the sidebar if no widgets have been added, which is the case here.

@kathrynwp Oops, my bad! Glad you are here to correct my mistake, and I learned something new! :)

@kathrynwnp Wow thank you so much! Very timely response, too! Lovely. And @sewingpattern thank you as well! I just came back to my blog and it went from “BlogSpot” to “WordPress” so things are very different. Haha. Good to learn something new!

sewingpattern – no worries, it was quite reasonable to think it was a widget! Newer themes (Black Letterhead is quite old and was retired a while ago) don’t use these default content pieces anymore as it can be kind of confusing. :)
