How to get rid of Pinterest button on page

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there. I installed the Pinterest plug-in but I don’t like how it shows up on every page.

    More specifically, I want to get rid of the one that’s at the top of my SHOP page. I’m not exactly sure why it’s there or what exactly my viewers would be pinning if they click on it. It’s just sitting on blank space, not attached to any image. Is there any way to get rid of it without affecting other Pinterest buttons?

    Thanks for your help!
    Vin

    Hi there,

    It looks like the plugin is designed in such a way that, it shows up every where on your site,
    can you provide the link of the plugin which you’ve installed on your site?

    If the plugin doesn’t suits what you’re trying to achieve you can un-install and find the other plugin which is available.

    It seems like your site is upgraded with the Business plan,

  • Hi there,

    In future, please contact us via live chat as @vishalmukadam indicated above – these forums are for support to free sites, and volunteers here don’t have access to the tools needed to support the advanced features of your Business Plan site.

    I see you’re using a Pinterest plugin that shows the button at the end of the page content, so it’s showing where it’s supposed to on the Shop page – that page doesn’t have any actual content, which is why the button appears right under the title.

    The plugin doesn’t have any option to exclude specific pages from showing the button. You can only set it to show on all pages or no pages. So long term the best option here would be to contact the plugin developer and get them to add more granular settings for where the button appears.

    But you should be able to hide it by adding this CSS in the Customizer:

    /* Hide Pinterest button on Shop page */
    #post-763 span.PIN_1524724480709_button_pin.PIN_1524724480709_save.PIN_1524724480709_tall {
    	display: none;
    }

    I also want to mention that the Jetpack plugin on your site already supports a Pinterest button. If you go to https://wordpress.com/sharing/buttons/snowdayblog.com and add the Pinterest button, and select the Official Button style, it should automatically add Pin It buttons to all images on your site.
