How to get rid of right-hand column on Twenty Ten Theme

Since TurkeyInTheForties.wordpress.com is so image-heavy, I’d like it to be clean.
How do I get rid of the second column on the right? Thanks!

What you refer to is the sidebar. See here for a detailed theme description please http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyten/
You can place an empty text widget at the top of the sidebar (enter no title and no text in the body), click “save”, click “close”. That will create an empty space that you cannot blog in. To eliminate it completely will require an annually renewable custom design upgrade and do the required CSS editing.

These are the ways to reduce page loading time:
1. Edit posts and add text at the beginning then insert “the more tag” prior to the images so only excerpts appear on the fort page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/2. Reduce the number of posts appearing on the front page here > Settings > Reading
Blog pages show at most _ posts3. Reduce the number of images and or media embeds displayed and/or make them smaller.
