How to get rid of the ‘wordpress’?

  I had Bluehost until a couple of months ago and economics sent me back to my free WordPress.com. But now there is the ‘wordpress’ in the site address. How can I drop this and go back to just phyllisalberici.com? Long time writer, total idiot on the tech side. Thanks for helping.

  Every free WordPress site, ends in .wordpress.com. In case you’d want to loose this ending you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan.

  You can view all wordpress.com plan features here https://wordpress.com/pricing/ 

  If you still own this domain, you could also map your free WordPress.com site to this address, but still, you’ll need a paid plan.
