How to get rid of WordPress banners on my home page.
-
Greetings,
I am a relatively new word press user. My wordpress domain is (shown below): lapsedtime.wordpress.com. I also own the domain lapsedtime.com. I set this domain to point to my wordpress domain, and that all works well. Users can get to the site with either address. However, it seems if users use just lapsedtime.com, there are “WordPress banner things” (don’t know how to describe them otherwise) which appear on the home page. Not sure what this is, but it looks like some sort of mistake. Perhaps I set up the domain wrong, I haven’t a clue, but would really like to resolve this issue. Any ideas out there? Thanks Dave Berry

I don’t know what you mean by “WordPress banner things” but at the bottom of your blog it says Theme: Twenty Ten Blog at WordPress.com. this cannot be removed because even though you’ve purchased a domain name, it’s still a free blog.
If you’re talking about the thing at the top, that is your toolbar.

Staff have been introducing “infinite scroll” to themes — a site wide change that will be applied to all themes that are suitable for the implementation. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/to-infinity?replies=137
http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2012/06/12/to-infinity-and-beyond/Disabling” the infinite scroll feature to get rid of the pop-up in the footer results in a “Load More Posts” tab, and you can’t disable that “Load More Posts” tab from appearing and have “previous post” and “next post” links, without the Custom Design upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

You are forwarding and masking – why not pay the $ 13– a year for domain mapping then it all looks like lapsedtime.com and the links inside your blog will show up and be able to be sent on to people

Was not the original question – but an improvement for sure – more class for sure
