How to get Sharing buttons to appear where you want them to

    I was trying to add Sharing buttons, ideally to the BOTTOM of all my pages. I clearly was on the right track, as I finally got the buttons to appear, but SMACK in the middle of my Testimonials. Not good. How or why WP decided I wanted my Sharing buttons in the middle of a Testimonial was beyond me!

    After hours of searching (and no help from WP), I finally found where my Sharing configuration page was. While the box for showing Sharing buttons in Testimonials was Unchecked (so why it ever appeared there was beyond me), I tried unchecking various other buttons. It seems that that it was the ‘Show Sharing Button on Front Page’ that was causing the buttons to appear in the Testimonials. Again, as to why, who knows. But at least now I now longer have Sharing buttons messing up my Testimonials.

    So…I WOULD still like to get my Sharing buttons to appear…ideally at the BOTTOM of all my pages. Currently on the Conrigure/Sharing setup page, the only button checked off is for Sharing buttons to appear on ‘Pages’. What does ‘Pages’ mean exactly? For when I look at my Pages, there are no Sharing buttons appearing. Anywhere.

    Is there anyone who can tell me what I need to do to get Sharing buttons to appear, ideally at the bottom or else the very top of all my pages?

    Thanks and sheesh…why is this so bloody difficult?

    Hi, looking at your above site lynnsnycsupperclub.com indeed I don’t see any sharing buttons at the moment. Have you followed these instructions to add them? https://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/

    Pages contain static information, like your About page. Here’s more on Pages and how they differ from Posts (your blog/news/announcements):

    I agree that there is a learning curve involved when setting up a website, but fortunately there are a lot of resources available to you:

    Also, you can individually enable or disable Sharing buttons from appearing on certain pages or posts.

    The instructions for doing this are further down the page on https://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/#disabling-sharing-likes-on-specific-posts and while it may say Posts, it is also possible to do this on Pages as well.

    Just noting you could also use CSS for this. If you have a lot of fine-tuning in mind, you may want to go ahead and upgrade so you have the CSS option and the extra support. Cheers!
