How to get user information before viewing a page?
-
Hi I hope this makes sense- I am working on a site with products, and some of the products have viewable catalogs. Basically I want to make a form where the user has to enter say name and email address, before being allowed to view or download the brochure. How can I achieve this using WordPress? Would I use a plugin?
Thank you!

@quadramble thanks for your help here and welcome to volunteering in our community forums. If you haven’t seen it yet please take a look at our support guide for new volunteers which has a lot of very good information. You can find it here https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-com-volunteers/

Thanks for the link about volunteering at WordPress.com. It’s enlightening. I’m sorry for the inaccurate answers posted in this thread.

Hi there,
For what you’re describing you would need a membership plugin, yes, so that only people who have registered as members can see the content. On WordPress.com you would need a Business Plan upgrade to use such a plugin.
I see you don’t have any WordPress.com sites in this account, though. If you have a self-hosted installation of WordPress instead, you can ask for more help here:
