The audio player seems to work fabulously on my blog with the color code and all. When will wordpress.com implement the new version (2.0) of the player which has the volume control as well ??

I am using this code for the audio player (without the : or = after the audio in the code) :
[audio http://URL of mp3 file|bg=0xCDDFF3|leftbg=0x357DCE|lefticon=0xF2F2F2|rightbg=0xF06A51|rightbghover=0xAF2910|righticon=0xF2F2F2|righticonhover=0xFFFFFF|text=0x357DCE|slider=0x357DCE|track=0xFFFFFF|border=0xFFFFFF|loader=0xAF2910]

@ tonybrace
yay! i want to hug you like an animal, really!! you just solved a huge problem for me, your colour code for the background works for the “placeholder” (or however to call it in english) – even the stuff told me there’s no way to change the colour from white to something else! since i use a dark background the white player jumps into the visitor’s face, but now i can change it to the correct colour. thanks a lot!! -
@xanthippe: Here’s the complete list of commands for changing the various elements of the player:

And here’s two of the many webpages that provide hex code color charts:

@ panaghiotisadam
thanks, but i know all the common commands to change the audio player’s colours – i use them on two of my blogs already ;) the problem lied in the “box” or “frame” of the player, which was always visible as a white box behind the closed player, and according to stuff there was no way to change the colour. and now check tonybrace’s site to see this box in blue! “bgcolor=#000000” does the trick, instead of “bgcolor=0x000000”! -
Ah, sorry – I misunderstood your previous post! I didn’t see anything unusual in tonybrace’s code, and it didn’t occur to me that it was his blog instead of his post here that gave you the extra tip. And a great tip it is, indeed! Thank you!

to all of u who made suggestions … i salute u … however … back at tonybrace ranch …
@ panaghiotisadam … i had the free switch converter from some time back but it had expired … paid for the pro version thinkin it would be the panacea to all my ills … no joy … am waitin for the man from tech support to get back to me …
@xanthippe … like an animal huh? which species? :-) … happy u found some use out of my post … i can’t take any credit for it tho … serendipity i guess …
cheers anyway

@tonybrace: I don’t understand – I gave you a link for downloading the free Switch converter. And it does convert WMA files to mp3. (Are you running an old OS perhaps?)
-
@panaghiotisadam … yeah thanks … but i had already downloaded the free version sometime ago … it had expired … wouldn’t allow me to download again … run OSX10.4.11 … not the latest but not old … yeah … i know it should convert those files … and i used it before for diff file types … BUT for some reason with the .WMA files from my voice recorder … when i click “convert” i keep getting a red cross in the left column … ie it is rejecting the file conversion … i contacted the tech support and they asked me to send the file … they said they were “running tests” … am still waiting … i should have thought about all this when i bought the bloody voice recorder eh! :-(

@tonybrace: I see. If you wish, upload the original file in a hosting site and give me the address so I can try find a solution.

I’m following this discussion but it’s not helping me.
I installed the WordPress Audio Player plugin and configured as per instructions. The player does not appear on the blog. Inserting into the code what I read here, i.e., [audio=filename] or [audio filename] or [audio=completefilenameURL] or [audio completefilenameURL] simply results in these entries being displayed as text in the blog.
What am i missing?
Thanks in advance for helpful replies.

stacacapt – if you are talking about plugins, you must be self-hosted since we don’t use plugins here at wordpress.COM. Our instructions won’t work because we use different software. Head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/

Right! Wrong place for me and wrong advice for me. The AudioPlayer author says the format is [audio: filename URl] and that works!
