How to give my e-mail followers only part of the post?

  People are following my blog via e-mail. I’d like to send them only part of the blog so they need to click to see the rest of it on the site. How do I do that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,
  The emails are derived from the RSS Feed for posts. The setting here > Settings > Reading is only for the RSS Feed summary and does not affect the posts.

  If you want to display only excerpts on the front page of the blog followed by read more links, you can insert “the more tag” into each post prior to publication.

  Alternatively, you can switch to using a theme that automatically displays front page excerpts. This is a list of active themes on WordPress.com that use the excerpt instead of full post content.   Thanks. I think I understand what you’re saying. I don’t want to have excerpts on my blog front page. (I don’t have a front page.) I just want an excerpt on the email that goes out to followers. It sounds like you’re saying that my particular theme may not do that. I use Yoko. It’s not really a big deal. I just like the way the post looks on Word Press because the banner is there plus all the other widgets down the side. It doesn’t look as good in the email without all that. But it’s good enough.   OK. So I think I get that under Settings—Reading, where it says “For each article in a feed show….” I should click on summary. That way when the next post goes out to followers via email, they’ll just get the beginning of the post and then have to click to come back to the site. Yes? Thanks for your help. I’m new at this so am a little slow!
