How to: Grid pictures with titles along the top?

I’m trying to lay out pictures of my items and then underneath have the price or description. I was able to lay the pictures out correctly and in the editor even write the descriptions and price below and it looks perfect, however, once previewed on the website, it just crams all the pictures together with no descriptions or titles. I’m currently using 4 columns, thumbnail pictures, and square tile layout. I wish I could take a picture. Its perfect in the editor, but I can’t get it to look like that on the real page. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
I simply want a small thumbnail with a small title and price under each picture in the grid of pictures. Is this possible?
It seems to have a disappearing title hovering over the image when you put your mouse over the image. Its cut off and disappears once you move your mouse off and this doesn’t work for cellphones.
