How to group articles

Making a freelance writing site, and need a samples page with internal links to sample pages. I’ve written all the pages, but when I try and link them in using:
a link will appear on my samples page, but will not work. If I clicked it I just get a 404 error message. How do I do this? Tearing my hair out in frustration, this should have taken seconds, not hours!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Open the web page you wish to link to and copy the address. If you are using the Visual Editor, type the text you wish to be the anchor link, like “Name of Article here” in your above example.
Select it and click the LINK button. Paste in the link and add the link title (required by law in many countries), which maybe different or the same as your anchor text. Click okay or insert (they are changing the interface so not sure which one you are using). The link should appear.

It looks like you have not yet published the pages. You can’t link to post or page drafts: links only function if the target of the link is live, active, and online.

Tried coming back to this today, and all the articles have deleted themselves, as have all but one of the pages. Created an entirely new samples page, but this still contains one of the broken links. There was no text/links on the new samples page, so I just deleted it. Somehow it still turns up on the website though, with the broken link…
WTF.
