How to have post photo show up in emails to subscribers

  Hello there,

  When I post a new post it automatically gets emailed to my subscribers but I’ve noticed that the photo that I use for the post is not in the email that gets sent. Why is that happening and how do I fix it? I think the photo that I pick for the posts are important and will make it more attractive to follow the link to read the rest of the post but I’ve looked everywhere (?) in the dashboard and can’t figure out where the option is to make that happen. Any suggestions? I am using the Coraline Theme at the moment but I don’t think that should have anything to do with it.

  This is not theme related. Staff have told us that different email programs display the posts differently. Some do display images and videos and some do not. The WordPress.com blog subscriptions are set up here so they display across the widest variety of email programs possible but if this is not happening then it’s a function of the of the email program at the receiving end.

  Thank you for your reply however that doesn’t make sense for me because I am subscribed to a friend’s WordPress blog and every time I get her email for a new post I have her post’s picture too. But when my posts get sent out (I get a copy to my email to make sure everything is working) the email comes in without the post’s picture. So it’s not my email client because it does work with other WordPress blogs that I am subscribed to just not mine. That’s what doesn’t make sense to me. Any help would be great. Thanks again! :-)

  P.S. I’ve just changed my theme (about two minutes ago…because I wanted to change things up a bit) but as timethief said this isn’t a theme related problem so that shouldn’t matter and it’s been going on for a while now. I just thought it was some option that I didn’t have ‘on’ but after looking I don’t see an option to turn on.

  We cannot edit the way the subscription emails are displayed. With regard to email subscriptions Staff have told us that each email client presents the published posts we send out in different ways. So it may appear differently to different email clients. For example, you will find that gmail does not present the posts as you may expect it to.
