How to have Side Column with Short Takes

Thanks, Sacred Path. Yes, I see what asides do now. I think because they have “side” in their name–I misunderstood.

So back to text widget. . What am I doing wrong because it is not activating the link?

Asides won’t put it in the sidebar; they just differentiate those from the rest of your posts.

Using a special Category generates a feed for that category, and that feed can be put in your sidebar via the RSS widget.

Thanks, raincoaster, but that’s not exactly what I want. . .
I’ll copy from the html. . and that will probably solve the activated links issue.

The faded text in the side bar- I might need to solve by switching themes.
I like the twenty ten theme though because its text is so big and clear.

You could change the color of the text from within the post editor. It is on the lower row of buttons on the visual editor. Just highlight the text and choose your color. I don’t think it will override the link color, but it might.

Thank you all for your help. I got some of what I wanted and so this is helpful. (I can do brief news/updates which I might want to “change out” as I go along (If I don’t they will take up all the space in the twenty/ten theme that I need for blogroll, etc.

For the twenty/ten theme this is probably the best that I can do with it. I experiment with the 3 column themes later to see if they work better. .

Thanks again, for all the help. :)
