how to have summerized version of my posts on the homepage

  hello

  how do I have shortened summarized versions of my posts on the blog and only when pressing on the post does the whole post open up?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello,

  By default, WordPress sets the homepage display option to Your latest posts which displays the posts in the reverse chronological order.

  If you want to check this setting please go to My Sites > Customize > Homepage Settings > Your homepage displays option.

  If the Your latest posts option is selected then it will show summarized version of your latest posts and when clicked it will redirect to the complete post.

  Hi there,

  I hope you don’t mind me adding in but I think what @travelsiberia is asking for is an excerpt for the posts.

  Excerpts shorten your blog posts so that only part of the entry — usually the introduction or a summary of the post — is displayed, instead of the entire entry.

  You can go to My Sites > Customize > Content Options > Instead of full post click the “post excerpt” radio button. All your posts will be shown as excerpt.

  Hello there,

  In addition , there is one more feature named as “Excerpt”.. Excerpt is an optional short summarized version of the post. Not all themes support excerpt.

  You can write excerpt on edit post screen under more options section on right side of the editor.
