How to have the “Share this” button next to my posts??

  Share this does not work on wordpress.com. But you can download GetSocial and install an array of social bookmarks from: http://hillelstoler.com/2008/05/18/getsocial-social-bookmarking-for-wordpresscom/.   Thanks a lot guys it was very helpful I put the share button in my blog, but could you pls explain thiss to me.

  If you want to include the button below each post, simply copy-and-paste the code below into the ‘Main Index Template’ template, right before the end of the ‘< div class=”entry”>’ tag. Then save the changes.

  And what’s the main index template and do I look for it??

  Firstly, the instructions you are referring to do not apply tom a wordpress.com blog. Secondly, what are you trying to add, which “share” button are you talking about?

  Hmmm. Well first I meant sharing posts with someone, but I couldn’t really get it :(

  I’m afraid you’ll have to explain a bit better. GetSocial will provide buttons that allow people to recommend your posts to their friends on Facebook, Digg, Stumbleupon, etc. If that’s not what you want to do, you need to explain more. If that is what you want to do, those instructions you cited won’t work here, period. You have to use GetSocial or another workaround like this:

  share this does work on wordpress…i dont know how to do it but i want to. go to http://www.kevinpereira.com he has the share this button under every post

  that’s why it works here at WordPress.COM we’re not allowed
  to use JavaScript so Get Social Is the option for WordPress.COM
  members…

  WordPress.com or WordPress.org ? The difference.
