How to hide an author in the widget

    Hi – we have an organizational blog and a few of our authors have moved on to other organizations. I’d like to keep their blog posts on the site but remove them from our widget. Is that possible? Thanks!

    Hi,

    The author widget is set to display all the authors on your site:

    However, if you want to keep the content but remove the author, you can try the following steps:

      Click on USERS > ALL USERS
      Find an author that is no longer active
      On the far right, click on the number of posts. This will pull up a list of all their posts.
      Use the bulk edit feature to select all the posts (checking the box), and then clicking on BULK ACTIONS at the top. Change it to edit and click APPLY.
      In the author field, change the author status to a generic user name (for example, I see you have unitedwaycleveland).

    Once you’ve completed this for all the inactive authors, your widget should no longer show authors without any assigned posts.
