how to hide and article from the main page

    Hello,

I’m currently publishing my articles in french but I want to add some english version ina special page.
I know how to do that. However when I’ll publish these old articles in english , i don’t want them to appear in the main page (because it will be chaotic and my main users are french.)

How can i specify this when I’m about to publish an article ?

Thanks a lot for your time and answer.

    Hi there!
Maybe a separate blog for the old english content?

If your Posts page is displaying as the front page of your site, this is unavoidable. All published posts will appear on the Posts page.

There are several suggestions in this guide for creating a multilingual site here on WordPressdotcom: https://en.support.wordpress.com/set-up-a-multilingual-blog/

Let me know if you have other questions about that.

    I’ll have a look.
    Thank you for your answer.
It’s amazing that we can’t select the way we want to publish our new articles.

anyway thanks for your time and answer.

So i checked the option and they are not really fitting my expectations.

I was planning to create a special page with all the english articles (labelled English ) to sort them at the same place.
But if it realease them also in the main page It will really create a big trouble with the french reeaders. :/

I checked also oninternet and a lot of people are talking about some plugins who can do it. But I can’t use it with wordpress.com

The two site option that @dave2swords mentioned is really the best way to achieve this in my opinion. That way the French readers will receive notices of new posts in French and the English readers in English. You can use the same theme on each site and link them together. It will be almost seamless.

There is another method mentioned in that guide of using categories to separate your posts in English and French and then use a Custom Menu including links to both which, when clicked, will only display those posts (French or English). That would require you to set up a static front page in place of your Posts page.

However, that won’t stop notifications of new posts in English being sent to your French readers and vice versa.

Let me know if you have any other question about that.

    Hello,

The 2 (miror) website seems to be a good idea but it will split my visitors numbers and the referencing system.

There is no possible option to publish the article and then remove the article from the dynamic main page (but keeping it elsewhere)

For exampel in my blog I have only 2 categories Vietnam and japan.

My idea is to create à page English where i’ll send all the articles categorized with english. This is easy.

But I wish i can then remove the article from the dynamic page without removing it from the “english” page.

Anyway I really want to thank you for your time and your precious help.
