How to Hide Post Titles?

  Is there a way to hide post titles so that only the date is prominently displayed first, then the rest of the posts of that day are displayed without their titles? This is similar to what you see in the Prologue theme. Please also see instapundit.com for an example of what I am talking about.

  Is this an option in WordPress (Blogger has this option)? If not, please consider it for future WP versions. Please let me know either way, thanks!

  Are you blogging on WordPress.COM? If so, please consider linking your username to your blog so we can see straightaway what platform you’re using. The answers are very different depending if you are blogging on WordPress.COM or self-hosted WordPress.ORG. The 2 stickies at the top of the forum explain the difference.

  Yes, I am blogging in WordPress.com. But I also have a self-hosted blog in WordPress. Can you give me the answers to both?

  How to link is explained in the “8 things” sticky. :)

  I don’t think any of the WordPress.COM themes do what you want straight out of the box, and since I don’t post more than once a day, I really can’t experiment with the various themes to see if one does.
  But you can by going to your Dashboard’s Appearance>>Themes and then clicking on the thumbnails to see what your blog looks like in each theme. You back out of the preview without applying the new theme by clicking on the X in the upper left hand corner of the preview screen.

  There are several themes that have a prominent date, Shocking Blue Green is one.

  Otherwise on WordPress.COM, you would probably be looking at a CSS upgrade to suppress display of the post title. But since I am not experience on CSS, I could not advise you. If you don’t have a good CSS background, do not get the CSS upgrade just for this. Help for CSS is not available from Staff and few forum volunteers have the skills to help you.

  About your WordPress.ORG blog, we really can’t help you here, but you can use whatever theme you like with your self-hosted ORG blog and there’s probably a theme out there that already does what you want for you.

  Thanks for your help, Jen. So it looks like there is no easy solution to suppress post titles in WordPress. I will look at Shocking Blue Green.
